How Your Donation Helps
There's no cash prize for winning the pool — just bragging rights. But if you choose to donate, here's where it goes:
Donate to help fund the Financial Assistance Program so children from under-served and lower-income families can register and play soccer. Woodford Youth Soccer Association wants every child to be able to play soccer if they want to.
Soccer is one of the simplest, most inclusive sports a child can play. It's a true team sport — kids learn to communicate, trust one another, and work toward something bigger than themselves. It builds confidence, teaches resilience through winning and losing, and forges friendships fast. There are no body-type requirements and no expensive barriers to playing — soccer welcomes every kid who wants to step on the pitch, regardless of size, speed, or starting skill.
For children in Woodford County, a season of soccer can mean real social connection across our community, and the kind of belonging that comes from being part of a team. The lessons travel with them — discipline, communication, perseverance — long after the boots come off.
WYSA is also actively building out our girls' programme. We currently run girls' teams from age 8 through 13, and our long-term goal is to provide a full pathway for girls and young women in our community through to U19 — so every girl who picks up the game can stay in the game.

Our Mission
WYSA has been developing young soccer players in Woodford County since 1984. We run recreational youth soccer for kids across the community. This World Cup pools competition is our community fundraiser — free to play for everyone, with optional donations. Whether you donate or not, you compete on identical terms.
